It?s one of leading causes of death for men, and Tommy Chong has announced he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The ?Up in Smoke? actor seems optimistic about his chances for survival though, as he?s using marijuana as both a medicine and a soothing agent.
Tommy explained, "I've got prostate cancer, and I'm treating it with hemp oil, with cannabis. It is slow stage-one [cancer that I've] had for a long time.?
Chong noted that he began noticing symptoms during a three-year jail stint when he was drug-free. "So I know it had nothing to do with cannabis. Cannabis is a cure. [Legalizing marijuana]means a lot more to me than just being able to smoke a joint without being arrested."
Specifically, Tommy is now ingesting hemp oil to help him cope with the cancer ?at night, so I won't be woozy all day. I'm taking it as a medicine.?
